1. Apply different vocabulary strategies to words with regard to both narrative and expository texts. 2. Compare and contrast structural elements of narrative and expository texts. 3. Apply reading comprehension strategies for narrative and expository texts. 4. Formulate questions and answers for narrative and expository texts using the four levels of comprehension. 5. Self-evaluate reading strengths and weaknesses.

1. Textmap the assigned chapter. Compare your textmap with other students’ maps to identify the similarities and differences. Write a ˝ page reflection to convey your findings. 2. Read “Benny’s Heart.” Write and answer four questions, one at each level of comprehension, to exhibit your understanding of the article. 3. Create a KWL chart about the history of amusement parks. Include at least eight questions in the “W” section. Select and read at least three related texts to complete the “L” section. Include at least ten points of information in the “L” section.
